Our students are working with more than 100 drilling contractors around the world and creating a worldwide web of resources.

 We provide the only industry accreditations east of Alberta and recognized world wide.  Students are registered in a data base in Houston, Texas for validation to employers.  Employers in the industry will be reassured our students have been trained through a accreditation process reviewed by a board of industry directors.

Human Resources and Skills Development Canada and the Oil and Gas Industry supports Pre Employment Training programs through their sector council.  The sector council (PHRCC) Petroleum Human Resource Council of Canada was established to deal with a labour shortage with in the industry through training and retention strategies.

Financial Assistance E.I. Employment Insurance:

Skills Development Training funds may be available for Canadian residence under the Labour Market Development Agreement (LMDA) with your province. This service is provided through a signed agreement with the (HRSDC)Federal and Provincial Governments.

Some of our  Students choose a Line of Credit from their local bank to fund the program or utilize their visa for training funds.

Reg MacDonald President CEO of Maritime Drilling Schools meets with Companies in Doha QATAR, Abu Dhabi and Dubai while on a World Trade Centre trade show in QATAR. During his trip he was assisted with the expertise of Simone Jucker Executive Director of Edu Nova Gulf Region.

While on business in Doha, Qatar,  Reg MacDonald President CEO of Maritime Drilling Schools Ltd. was invited for business meetings with Dr. Jaber Al-Marri Founder, Chairman and CEO of (AIPC) and Abdul Kader El-Refaei of (AIPC) Arabian International Petroleum Corp.  Dr. Al-Marri was also Vice Chairman & Managing Director-Qatar Petroleum, Chairman, Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO)- Chairman, Qatar Liquefied Natural Gas Company (QatarGas)- Chairman, Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company (RasGas) Chairman & Founder-Qatar Fuel Additives Company (QAFAC). As former vice-chairman and managing director of Qatar Petroleum and chairman of Qatar Gas and Ras Gas LNG companies, he presided over $15 billion US worth of petroleum investments in his home country of Qatar, located on the west shore of the Persian Gulf. “Canadian companies should have a presence in the Middle East,” he admonishes. “There are a lot of huge projects in upstream, downstream, LNG and petrochemical underway where Canadian companies could play a big role.”

Meetings with Petroleum Advisors for the Government  administrative system of the State under His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said consists of the Diwan of Royal Court, the Ministry of Palace Office, the Cabinet of Ministers and Secretariat of the Cabinet, the Specialised Councils, the Governorate of Muscat, the Governorate of Dhofar and the Council of Oman (Majlis Oman).

Once students complete our program we provide a world wide list of drilling contractors along with contact information.  In addition, Maritime Drilling Schools Limited is contacted regularly from employers for access to our students.  Students should not pay recruiting agencies for employment or wage reduction for services. In Canada most drilling contractors in Alberta run orientations twice a week. Employers normally provide  medicals to potential employee's prior to employment.  The majority of land drilling contractors are located in Nisku, Alberta and located 10 minutes from the Edmonton airport.

Maritime Drilling Schools Limited has taken the initiative to ensure training is relevant and meaningful to the drilling industry.  This Pre Employment Floorman (Roughneck) Training Program will provide students with a comprehensive training program that is tailored specifically for the drilling industry. Students will learn how to safely operate and maintain drilling equipment and the job functions that are relevant to drill floor and deck crew operations.

In August 2001 a study showed that over 63% of oilrig workers are late 40's and 50's. This has set off alarms, Petroleum Producers are looking at what may happen over the next 5-10 years from now as those employees begin retirement.   Operators and Drilling Contractors are looking at ways to attract new entrants to this field by holding information sessions at schools and colleges. The United States is expected to triple their consumption of Natural Gas over the next 20 years. A recent study done by the Greater Halifax Partnership with the Conference board of Canada alone, has reported in their study that by the year 2020, fifty billion dollars is expected to be spent in Nova Scotia Offshore and Onshore oil & gas industry and creating at least 57,000 jobs. Now is the time to get trained for this aggressive developing industry!!!

Sharing the views and philosophies of two global industry leaders and because of the different rig characteristics e.g. land rigs verses offshore rigs, manual equipment verses automated and robotic equipment,  competency training (Practical Oilrig Training) should be done and rated by the employer. After our students are given the basics of operations and skill development with high emphases on rig safety, the employer can now focus on practical training that is relevant & specific to the rig type he or she will work on.
